Tahiti Win over Federated States of Micronesia

PORT MORESBY - Tahiti has registered first win with a big  score margin of 30 - 0 against Federated States of Micronesia at the 2015 Pacific Games in Port Moresby.

Fred Tissot TEE-SO scored six goals in 25 minutes, two players managed five goals and Raimanu Tetauira completed a four-minute hat-trick in stoppage time.

New Zealand began their bid for Olympic qualification with a 2-0 victory against Solomon Islands, Fiji drew with Vanuatu, while hosts Papua New Guinea went down 1-0 to defending champions New Caledonia.

Team PNG's first win of the Games was a 24-1 victory against Kiribati in men's touch rugby, while Samoa and Fiji were among the teams to make a winning start in basketball.

Table tennis, touch and basketball will continue their competitions today before the opening ceremony at the Sir John Guise Stadium. And tomorrow medals will be up for grabs in weightlifting and triathlon.[PNGFacts]
